Operation Stand Down-Central Texas hosted its fifth Stand Down at the Killeen Community Center Saturday, October 28, 2018.
Sheila Timmons, SGVHV Executive Director indicated it was by far the Best Stand Down hosted by Ms Courtland and her Team.

Per the KHD, Ms Joann Courtland, director of Operation Stand Down-Central Texas, based in Copperas Cove stated “For me it’s about service, serving those in need in our community. You don’t have to carry it all, you just have to care.”
This Event provided information and services as well as a meal for the homeless veterans and the disadvantaged citizens living in the Copperas Cove, Harker Heights and Killeen area. Some of the services offered were medical testing, hair cuts, clothing and food.
Organizations could support this in many ways. Several Organizations had tables set up at the Event, Star Group Veterans Helping Veterans chose to make a monetary donation.
