On Saturday, January 11, 2013, several Star Group Veterans Helping Veterans members went to the Shiloh Inn in Killeen, TX to render respect and honor to the traveling Texas Fallen Heroes Wall. The Department of Texas Fallen Heroes Wall lists the names of soldiers — 566 men and 7 women — killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are also photos of each Fallen Hero.
The wall was on display during the the Purple Heart Dept of Texas mid-year conference. The event was hosted by the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 1876 of Harker Heights, TX whose commander is Mr. Earl Williams.
During the event our president Mr. Haywood was able to visit with Mr. John D. Footman, Chapter 1876, 3-year Trustee and Chapter Chaplin.
