Independence Day Picnic Celebration
THANK YOU for your support

Star Group-Veterans Helping Veterans would like to thank everyone who attended our Fourth Annual Independence Day Picnic Celebration held on 29 June 2012 at Carl Levin Park, Harker Heights, TX. Everyone seemed to have a great time and enjoyed the action packed event.

Special Thanks to all business supporters (See list below) for their contributions of food, drinks, entertainment, financial donations and everything needed to make this Picnic a phenomenal success!  Also, thanks to all individuals who supported the picnic with their time, talent and financial contributions.

It was a privilege to have both the Killeen Daily Herald and the Fort Hood Sentinel come out to cover the event.

The support of the surrounding cities was awesome with Killeen, Harker Heights and Copperas Cove each presenting a proclamation declaring June 29, 2012 as "Veterans Helping Veterans Day"  Mayor Corbin of Killeen and Mayor Hull of Copperas Cove showed their support of Star Group–Veterans Helping Veterans and all Veterans by making a personal appearance at the event.  It was nice to see area mayors mingling with their constituents.

Fort Hood showed their support with Lt. Col. Bryan Radliff, presenting the group with a letter from Lt. Gen. Donald M. Campbell Jr., (III Corps and Fort Hood Commander).

The Purple Heart Association supportive of the event by displaying the Purple Heart Wall of Honor.

An American Flag which was flown over our Nation's Capitol in D.C. along with a letter commending the work of Star Group-Veterans Helping Veterans was received from Congressman John R. Carter (Texas District 31).

As the event continues to grow, the single reason for the picnic never changes; it's all about our Veterans. Star Group–Veterans Helping Veterans thanks everyone for their efforts and taking time out of their busy schedules to honor and express their thanks to all Veterans past and present.
