On Friday, April 7, 2017 Star Group- Veterans Helping Veterans President Mr. Haywood was invited to participated in the Men In Pink Fundraiser for the Central Texas College Foundation. This was the 9th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show to benefit scholarships for the CTC Nursing Program and was held at the Killeen Civic Center.
Among the highlights of the afternoon were the Men In Pink (MIP): male community leaders who dress in pink scrubs, walked the runway, served patrons and collected tips. This year’s Men In Pink were able to raise over $1200 for textbooks. The event itself raised approximately $22,000. Mr. Haywood (SG-VHV President) stated It was an honor and a privilege to be selected again to participate in such a wonderful event. The proceeds raised during this event will assist so many students and to know that so many community leaders took the time out of their busy schedules too participate made the event even more spectacular.
